The route for both the recreational and advanced ride have not yet been finalized. We are looking at making some changes to make the ride more enjoyable and take in more sites in and around Los Angeles. Our main in choosing the route is to make the ride safe and fun. Both rides will stop at the rest stop in Hollywood for a bathroom and refreshment break.
34 Mile Route, 1800 ft. of climbing, 2000 ft. of descending…more payoff than pay-in…a more detailed hill profile will be posted to this website in the near future. The final ride route is subject to change, based on road construction, other events, public safety and other issues. According to the BRDAA Ride Rating Scale this ride is rated as moderate. The uphill finish to the LA Police Academy at the end of the ride will be a real challenge for the more recreational riders. But the payoff will be worth it with a great lunch waiting for you and huge raffle after the ride.
47 Mile advanced route will have more climbing and roll at a much faster pace than the recreational ride. Registration in the advanced ride is limited to the first 300 advanced riders who register. So sign up early! According to the BRDAA Ride Rating Scale this ride is rated as difficult.
The Bicycle Ride Director's Association of America (BRDAA) has developed the ride difficulty rating scale described below.
